Charlotte Celebrates
Held on Father’s Day weekend, Charlotte Celebrates is a community-centric event featuring a car show, live music, fireworks, and family activities on the courthouse lawn. This year, in conjunction with Charlotte Celebrates, the Charlotte Rotary held a block party to recognize the farm community, which included farm equipment on display, free food, and music at Beach Market.
Charlotte Bluegrass Festival
The Charlotte Bluegrass Festival in June is the oldest continuously running bluegrass festival in Michigan. This festival attracts bluegrass enthusiasts from all over the state and beyond, featuring performances by renowned bluegrass bands and artists. Held at the Eaton County Fairgrounds, the festival creates a laid-back atmosphere where attendees can enjoy soulful music, camp out, and participate in jam sessions.
Eaton County Fair
The Eaton County Fair is another highlight of Charlotte’s festival calendar. Held every July at the Eaton County Fairgrounds, this traditional county fair offers a week of livestock shows, 4-H exhibits, and horse racing. Shadow Season
New this year, the community is planning Shadow Season — events throughout the month of October that will take advantage of Charlotte’s social district, celebrate spooky season, and include several Halloween themed activities, such as Pumpkin Chunkin.
Lighted Holiday Parade & Christmas in Charlotte
Kicking off the holiday season, the Lighted Holiday Parade takes place on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. The event features a parade with illuminated floats, a tree lighting ceremony, and activities promoting local shopping during Small Business Saturday. Throughout the month of December, Christmas in Charlotte offers shoppers special holiday promotions and activities, including visits with Santa and the Festival of Trees.
